So, I'm wondering; is there any reason it's not allowable to simply exit as an arriving passenger after crossing the UK Border check, and then head up to departures, and enter security without all the faffing around in the lines for the escalators downstairs?
Anyone found this to be a quicker way of doing things?
Sometimes, yes, it is quicker to go landside and come back. Of course you can exit and re-enter if you wish, unless you have a visa issue.
However, make sure that you can get to the conformance (entrance to security, basically) by 35 min before departure, or you won't be able to board your flight.
