The thing that people keep forgetting is that all the U.S. carriers out of YEG are flying to their hubs. They are looking for the connecting traffic out of YEG to other destinations not just local traffic. How many people actually get off in MSP or IAH or SEA and how many are connecting? I am not making excuses for the lack of service out of Edmonton but how come NW doesn't start a flight YEG-LAX or to ORD...because there is not enough traffic to warrant such a flight it is better for them to send everyone through the hub. So in AC case for YEG it would be YYC for eastern Canada it would be YYZ. </font>
I don't forget that at all. But you think I want to fly AC's patented Dash8 tarmac-to-tarmac service when there's any other choice especially in the winter?

I fly to IAH 4-6 times yearly. Now with non-stop CO service you will never see me on AC ex-YYC again

I Fly Edmonton First and refuse if at all possible to go ex-YYC or ex-YYZ both of which are extremely poorly designed as hubs and for which AC shares responsibility (I'm sick and tired of AC blaming airport authorities for baggage transit horrors trans-border).

I'm proud to say that I feel no misplaced nationalistic fervour to fly a carrier that puts service at the bottom of its priorities.

I might of stayed on but with the denigration of so-called Elite status by Rupert last year respecting capacity controls after I flew 27 segments post-9/11 to re-qualify I began to look elsewhere and the recent "free ticket" charges were the proverbial straw.

Good riddance!
