FM, just wanted to make sure you know that AA now permits passengers traveling in premium classes to pre-reserve their (regular) entrees to ensure that the flight does not run out of your choice before the flight attendant gets to you. I think it's too late to do so for your flights to HNL, but you should be able to do so for your HNL-LAX and LAX-MIA flights.
Of course, if you've already ordered a special meal (like vegetarian, kosher, gluten-free, etc.) then this won't apply to you.
Thanks, I did order some of my meals last month, although I can't remember what, but at least I can be reasonably confident that I'll like it. They didn't offer pre-selection on the HNL route, so I'll just wait and see what I get

Ms Monkey is a veggie (although she has started eating fish and chicken, so there's hope for her yet!), so she'll get whatever the veggie meal of the day is. I believe it's the same on both the LAX and HNL flights, which will no doubt annoy her, so I've kept that little nugget of information to myself so I at least get a quiet life for the next 8 hours or so

I asked for information in BRU, but they were a bit useless. To be honest, having spent so much time on Flyertalk, I'd say I knew more about it than them!

I sounded our Mrs PtF about a similar trip and, to my surprise, she is keen (it's been 8 years since we were last in HNL, on a RTW trip, and would love to return there).
Unless I've missed it (and in the knowledge that there's a similar itinerary in the Tier Point run thread), when you get a minute could you please confirm your expected Tier Points haul for this itinerary?
I'm sure you'll have a great time if you go! If you plan it right you should end up with around 1,200 tier points. I saw this route as low as £1,400 in a sale last year, so it's one of the cheapest ways to get close to Gold...
