I stayed less than a year ago and while the hotel itself was nice, its location left much to be desired. Our room window opened on a demolition site where they had just knocked down a handful of old buildings; I expect now the new ones have cropped up and they aren't a pretty sight - just ask for the Golden Horn view, not the city view.

Other people complained elsewhere that it was difficult to find the hotel because taxi drivers didn't know it but I expect now it's in its third year they have learned. There are numerous buses and 'dolmush' running past the hotel, but it requires some walking to get to the bus stop. Reception staff were quite helpful explaining how to get to Taksim Square, and they even sold us bus tickets. The bus ride to Taksim took forever, though.
