Hi. I'm sorry if this is a redundant post - I've tried searching through and didn't find the answer to my question so here goes...

I am traveling next week to GIG and will be arriving on Copa Airlines from Panama City. I get in several hours before my travel companion which is flying direct from NYC to GIG on American/TAM. I was told that I will arrive into Terminal 1 and my companion will arrive into Terminal 2.

1. After I go through immigration, will there be baggage carts readily available to pick up my bags (I will have 3 checked and 1-carry on) and are these carts free of charge?

2. After I go through customs, will I be able to push the cart from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 to meet my companion?

3. I plan on taking out money at one of the ATMs in the bank - is there one that is more secure or better?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I speak no Spanish or Portuguese so I'm a little nervous to be navigating around the airport by myself with so much luggage.
