Well yes I used to live very near Harajuku. One thing mentioned above that I'll reiterate - Harajuku is kind of an early neighborhood compared to Shibuya and Shinjuku, so if you like lots of late-night activities, someplace like Tokyu Excel Shibuya would be perfect. Also Excel is inside a shopping mall and above Tokyo's largest food hall, so it's very very convenient.
