You're welcome to try, but according to the Terms and Conditions at the time of purchase, it does mean you're not entitled:
Economy Plus purchases are automatically refunded after scheduled departure in the event of flight cancellation, change to a different flight or when travel is not completed in Economy Plus seating. In all other cases Economy Plus purchases are nonrefundable.
By the way, if you go to change your seat to an E+ seat from 22A on an existing flight so that you can get at the T&C, be sure to go back and change back to 22A after you cancel the purchase so that you don't end up in 30F. (This happened to me twice just now.)
