The only possible bypass I would see is if you had a US issued card. I have not done it but I believe UK members who have been able to get a US issued card were able to move their MRs from UK to US and they got the upswing on the relative exchange rate i.e. 1UKMR converted to 1.5 USMR. This is only an understanding not an authority.
