legitimately, ONLY the room being occupied by the MR plat can get the benefits of her status, however FT reports have shown that this "rule" is not always enforced by all properties.......
a MR acct has the option of attracting MR points or miles so just opt for miles vrs points for the room in your name and being paid by you.......
most properties now provide Internet access to MR members although it may be limited to public areas and not in-room (depending on the property)........

My group of friends will be staying at a Marriott next month for a conference. One of the members has Platinum status and it would be nice to have, at the very least, free wifi. Both rooms will be paid by me but one will be under her name. First, can we use her status for both rooms (say we put her name under both)? Second, she doesn't have much use for the points she would get from the stay but I would get a decent amount of United points (which I use frequently). If she doesn't want the points is there a way to use her status but also bank the points to my airline?
I know it's probably a stretch but I figured I'd at the very least ask. Thanks and sorry if this is a dumb question
