IMO the right thing for WN to do is to adjust our point balances adequately to preserve the value as it stands under current program rules - likely an impossibility especially considering their IT prowess.
Another option is to orchestrate a run on the bank. But I propose a run on the bank for a good cause.
The Billion Point Protest.
Could someone setup an exchange where say families with children that need out of state medical care could post their need. RR point hogs such as myself would answer their post and sponsor them with free flights. I would be happy to throw in a 100,000+ points. Surely there are enough of us with excess points to make this happen. 1 billion points would represent around $16.7 million in equivalent WGA fares. I know that the loss of revenue is probably not that exact figure but wouldn't this be a significant loss of revenue for WN especially if it were concentrated over the next six months?
