I can't really speak to the exact nature of their general malaise.
I can say that this is a large enough operation that it's a mixed bag of types:
• Locals that found work there
• Transplants that moved there for the job
• Transfers from HQ who may have had a romanticized notion of Wyoming life while getting away from Denver metro headaches
The seemingly high turnover rate is offset by the core that
will never leave.
This is obviously something that you're seriously considering so I don't wanna be a downer.
While not Cheyenne, I've lived in Jackson and spent considerable time in Lander.
Once did 6 weeks in the Absarokas, headed to the Wind's next summer.
I love Wyoming - I don't know that I could live there.
