Really? because anyone looking to avoid this could just buy a full return ticket and never take the return flight. I can see this being something that deserves a few extra questions but I can't see it being a huge deal nor requiring measures such as buying another cancelable ticket. Granted I have never been in this position so this is not from experience just my assumption.
