I booked a flight last minute. I did actually select the correct date, and I saved the itinerary. When I went to book it later, the website for some reason pushed the booking a month back, but I didn't triple check it (I only double checked the look up and saving of my itinerary).
Got the airport, found myself very embarrassed that I had the wrong date. I was of course not very happy and I did try to get the ticketing agent to rebook me for that day. I didn't throw a fit, but I did get a bit angry; I collected myself immediately. Needless to say I had to rebook in full-fare ticket which was easily many times what I was willing to pay.
I juggled between telling the client I was going to meet that I couldn't make it and just accepting my mistake. I booked the ticket... and you'll love this: The client canceled on me last minute!
