While I find LHR staff (and many staff in general) hesitant to tell someone where they are on the list, I've never had any problem with staff placing me onto the list (including the seemingly thousands of keystrokes needed to set it up with the credit card number). The upgrade waitlist ex-LHR does indeed now show up on the app as well.
