I am vacationing and planning to visit San Francisco for four days from Oct 27. My Amtrak train will arrive in Emeryville on Sunday evening around 4PM (with delays - may be 5 or 6pm). I will fly out of SFO. So I like to rent a car from the airport, keep it for four days and drop it at the same place before leaving.

What's the best way to get to the airport (SFO) from Emeryville Amtrak station on Sundays? Taxi, BART, Emerygoaround? Amtrak offers a shuttle service from their station to areas in SF. Is it better to take their connecting shuttle into SF and take BART to airport?

Where can I find a three star hotel in a safe SF neighborhood close to all the attractions?

I am a big fan of buffet restaurants...any good ones in SF?

I may visit Yosemite or Sequoia national park. How long is a drive to either one of these places from SF? Can I make it back in one day?
