There's no need to upset the OP unduly. The DEL-EWR service is an overnight flight and lands before sunrise. If he misses the first flight of the day EWR-SFO, there will be about ten more to choose from in the coming 12 hours, so there's no chance of getting stuck at EWR overnight. And if he misconnects UA will of course rebook his onward travel. There's no "United
