Connecting Rooms at Coconut Pt, Cypress, GHT and Spouse Diamond Strategy Question
I have questions regarding our upcoming stay Christmas Break in greater Florida..
Our itinerary are as follows..
Coconut Point (December 17-22) Bay Suite
Grand Cypress (December 22-January 5) Executive Suite
Grand Hyatt Tampa (January 5-January 8) Premium Suite
I've already booked 4 tickets for my immediate family including a 7 year old and 3 year old to fly down to TPA. We are considering asking my wife's mom (her dad has passed on), and my parents to come along. I've always wanted to do Disney with my parents, but never had the opportunity to do so. Perhaps this is the perfect time to ask my parents and my wife's mom to come.
Hence the following question regarding additional accommodation strategy.
At Coconut Point, would the Bay suite allow for a connecting room to form two bedroom accommodations. Obviously with a connecting room door, that can remain shut when needed when everyone's sleeping.. but it would be nice to have a parlor where everyone can gather and enjoy the holidays. Or.. would it make sense to book a room or another suite separate at Coconut Pointe?
At Grand Cypress, would the Executive Suite allow for an additional connecting room to form two bedroom accommodations? Or.. would it make sense to book a separate room or suite at the Grand Cypress?
At Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay, would the Premium Suite or Casita allow for accommodations of 7 (5 adults, 2 child).. How does the hotel handle charges for an additional bedroom in the casita? Can a main building suite accommodate an additional connecting bedroom? Or, does it make sense to book an additional room/suite?
Regarding Diamond Strategy, if I book additional rooms I can (1) keep all rooms under my profile, but only receive the same night credits or (2) put my wife on a Diamond Challenge, and have her receive stay credits, additional suite upgrades we can use towards the above stay(s), receive bonus points for the first 6 nights, receive additional amenities. The drawback would be that the credit isn't under my profile towards lifetime Diamond Status which I'm aiming for within 10 years ($20K spend per year). What should I do if I decide to book an additional room/suite at each hotel?
