Thanks for the really detailed advice, I just got a chance to sit down with this and start to compile it all, threw on a couple episodes of Bourdain, and then realized that there's quite a bit of optimization to be done!

Actually the New Majestic, but I guess I considered 5 minutes to be basically right there.
Day 2- Ya kun is everywhere, you need not have it at Chinatown or breakfast. ...
Good points, especially maxwell on PH and the city gallery. I had that place marked before, as it seemed interesting. Might be a good idea to put it on the list!
Day 3 - ... if you have nasi lemak at Changi Village, you are also likely to have the same dish at Adam Road as well since that is what Adam Road is famous for. You can plan for Ya Kun on this day instead, there is one at White Sands Shopping Centre at Pasir Ris.
Good to know! So either we skip Changi Village, have something different, or we skip Adam Road and go a bit out to Tanglin Halt after the botanic gardens. Or we discover that we love Nasi Lemak and have it twice. And then go to Tanglin Halt anyway.
Day 4 - I'm not sure about spa in the Outram Road/Chinatown area but if you are willing to splurge for Mrs Barn, I recommend Spa Botanica on Sentosa, it's not too far from Outram Park, accessible by MRT.
We're not opposed to splurging, but I'm also checking Groupon constantly for deals that don't require PR, EP, WP, etc. There seems to be one every week or so, but we'll give your recommendation a look!
Day 5 - My favorite Hawker Centre!

I seriously love Tiong Bahru. The usual comment applies - go for anything with a queue, but I highly recommend the lor mee at your right hand corner once you come up the escalator...
I will absolutely take your advice! If I can try durian, this should be fine, right? And the market will be a definite go, now. Still on the fence about the walking tour, but less so. Starting to think it'd be fun, and we can shift a few things around like the botanic gardens/treetop walk to fit it all in logically.
Okay, so clearly we have a very full plan for Tiong Bahru now. This is what I mean by needing to sit down and plan more.
As far as the zoo, we'll probably have to have a go. I think it'll depend on how we're feeling, but those last two days are still up in the air, so there will certainly be time.
And yeah, that was all extremely helpful stuff! I'm going to need to sit down with my map and excel and update the plan now. Thanks again!
