Just an aside, expect to be held up for a "departure tax" by airport officials upon trying to enter the check-in line and depart San Jose and probably LIR also. If you use a credit card they will knick it as a cash advance (but not tell you).

Concur with these posts. I recommend you purchase your departure tax cards at the hotel and charge to your room and use your Hyatt CC to pay for it. It will save you time at the airport and at least give you a bunch of points.
