Thanks to OP to open this thread, as I didn't know this either. Maybe there were a thread in the past, and I didn't pay too much attention to it.

Now, this trigger my decision of AC vs UA for next year again.. as I was 90% sure I will switch to UA as I got UA Gold via status match. I will be mainly flying AC for business and personal flights. During family vacation, that is when I do need the extra weight on my baggage.... as it seems no matter how I pack my bag, it always hit at least 60 lb. I never check my bag during business, so that doesn't affect me. Maybe I will need to continue to get at least E35K with AC... until they change rule again.
