I have read about most credit cards but HDFC bank Diners card has not been mentioned anywhere. The card comes in 3 variations and the black card is particularly notable. I find this card to be one of the very good cards available in India.

The joining fees is Rs. 20k and gives 20k points as welcome gift. On spending Rs. 150 you get 5 points and 10 points for spends on its own website for booking flights, hotels or movies. This is apart from some soft benefits.

The best thing is that it allows 1:1 transfer of points to many airlines and hotels including American Airlines, Hyatt and Marriott. AA is one of the most valuable miles as it does not charge fuel surcharge on AA or partners except on BA. Hyatt and Mariott points are also quite valuable in the hotel industry.

The down point is that Diners card is not very well accepted in India and this limits the point earning to some extent. Also, HDFC's booking site is not very good but good enough for straight forward bookings.

It would be nice to hear everybody's views on this.
