As for his presentation, he's citing a specific BOT statistic that would seem to be exactly what we're talking about. I don't think that tweaking this stat for airfare changes since 2010 or for nuances of discretionary income is going to push that $326 above $521.
It doesn't address what I posted, as his presentation fails to address an integral element of that which I stated in my post. That response you supplied earlier even ignores the very fundamental elements indicated in your latter paragraph above.
You should perhaps re-read what I posted, if you wish to understand what I actually posted.
Affordability of tickets for domestic US travel in real terms has dropped between 2010 and 2013 -- just far short of your $326 to above $521 amounts.
