For a truly significant difference in fare I would happily travel another airline.

Perhaps a fare difference of GBP 1,000+ on longhaul and GBP 200+ on shorthaul.

If I am going east in business class QR is second choice and the fare difference required would be smaller, perhaps only a hundred pounds or so.
