Prior to going through DUS, I had read that there was a charge for this railesque service. Once there though, there appears to be little to no inclination that a person needs a ticket for it.
It seems to be automated anyways, without anyone checking for tickets. Why they charge or do not make it clear there is a charge is a question I forgot whilst riding it. It really seems like a free transit option, but perhaps my Deustche was off when I arrived to clearly read the signs.
