Lifetime Tier Points
I logged into BAEC today and noticed an area listing my lifetime tier points.
I read some of the info given on BAEC website, it states that once you amass 35,000 tier points you receive gold status for life. But other than that the lifetime points won't raise your status.
Last year I racked up about 400 tier points. For the sake of simplifying the maths lets say 500. With me being someone who flys purely for leisure I'm not what you would call a frequent flyer.
Based on my frequency of flying it would take me 70 years to reach the gold for life status. I'm fine with this, I'm happy enough with the avios and small perks from being bronze I get in return for my occasional custom.
But to me anyone who is going to reach the 35000 in a reasonable time frame is going to have to average 000's of tier points a year for a long period, and as such hold gold status for a very long time anyway.
Or maybe I'm missing something?
