Lengthy delay awaiting a decision for a family member with a 20 year banking history w. Wells Fargo, 800 credit rating, $0 CC balances, low monthly CC spend and no new CC apps within the last year. I would have guessed instant approval. Also: no credit hit from the application (as far as I can tell). Calling WF was no help. Rather strange, though I haven't much experience with WF CCs.
