Around Thanksgiving your CID-ORD flights might actually be the hardest to snag.
In my experience they have a 'dead zone' though of about 6 months out to 1 month prior to departure where nothing is available (F & J). Once your within a month though CX is very good about releasing add'l seats to award inventory.
It helps that there are quite a few CID-ORD flights every day. I really want to leave the Friday before Thanksgiving but could leave a day or two earlier if need be. I definitely want to have my seats
well before 6 months out so that shouldn't be an issue.
