Change seat assignments on TA-booked ticket
Hope someone has a good idea here.
I have tickets from the US to NRT on ANA booked by a travel agent as part of group travel. The tickets show fare basis Y2RJ, which should be premium economy, but somehow they're actually booked into S inventory according to ANA's Web site and phone reservations agents.
Regardless, as travel agents love to do, they've put us all in the last rows of coach and I'm stuck in a middle seat. I don't mind coach for a 14 hour flight, but I do mind sitting in the middle. I can pull up the ticket on ANA's Web site, but I can't change the seat assignments, register my passport, etc. I called and after 20 minutes on hold they were able to put my United Star Gold FF number in the reservation, but said they couldn't change the seats.
Long story short, there are several intermediaries between me and the travel agent and there's no way for me contact the TA directly. Do I have any hope of escaping my fate? The flight only has a couple aisle seats left according to ExpertFlyer, and it's leaving on Monday.
