Interesting report, it really is somewhere I should get to, thanks for posting! I liked your comments about the MIA OW lounge (ex-E admirals). Many seem to hate that place, I rather like it and if flying through MIA to LHR I'll get the early flight to MIA arriving at 10am, grab a few hoegaardens and a burger at Shulas while i wait for it to open at 1pm, then sit for hours on those black leather chairs and watch the planes and weather come and go - so much glass is superb, and a real nice sense of space. OK, no 'real' champagne, and i did prefer it when the admirals had a staffed bar there as it can feel a bit...lonely...when it is empty, but the californian sparkling wine on offer is fine with me for a few hours of happy time. I also take a bet on if the last working train to the E satellite will crash like the other one did a few years back....My only gripe is the black leather on the seats by the windows are so 'slidey' for want of a better word its impossible to get comfy without sliding down onto the floor!
PS they do keep talking about opening a new flagship lounge, but it is always put back (mia is one of those airports where something has changed every time you go through it). The old one was tiny!! Maybe they are going the way of DFW - no flagship as there are too many people that would use it (yup, that is what i was told at the admirals club!!), and i understand bankruptcy had something to do with it, not to mention constant construction delays.
