Hmmm that didn't work for me. We had Vodafone sim from Italy and we drove to Austria. As soon as we got close to the border, we got a TXT saying that the SIM does not allow roaming in another country. It won't even let us use it at Republic of San Marino! And that's right in the middle of Italy, but it is another country technically speaking. Maybe you can get a SIM that allows you to use in other countries, but we didn't get one.
