Piriapolis, Uruguay
We took a day trip to a small beach town called Piriapolis. It was surprisingly pleasant and enjoyable. I might have enjoyed it a lot more because it was low season and there were barely anyone in the entire town. The town was clean and modern. There were actually quite a few luxury condos as well as bed and breakfasts along the coast, providing excellent coastal ocean views of Uruguay. I actually wished that I had stayed there instead of the Sheraton. We headed up to Cerro San Antonio for some fantastic views:
Then, we took the somewhat scary but awesome gondola ride down to the marina:

After some sun, we went to the famous Casapueblo Museum, the house of the Uruguayan artist Carlos Páez Vilaró in Punta Ballena.
