I noticed the other month while trawling through the City Edinburgh Council portal, 3d Reid is BA's registered agent for the lounge refit project. The registered agent is normally assigned to the project architect/lead designer. While 3d Reid is without question a highly competent design practice (the magnificent EDI/NCL control towers are great examples of high quality, leading edge infrastructure projects executed by this practice), I have found their past interiors work to be more mainstream, lacking the creative pizzazz we've seen from competitor Graven Images, who's output includes the much celebrated GLA lounge. That said, when it comes to airport work 3d Reid is at the top of its game and there are so many factors influencing the final product. Chief amongst which is the Client (and of course budget).
So with expectations duly managed, I am looking forward to the unveiling

Interesting though that they're choosing different people for each lounge. I wonder if they're moving away from the general Galleries/Terraces concept to a more localised offering in each place? A good move in my book.
Edit: Just had a look at 3dReid's other work and while I'm ashamed to admit it I was rather impressed by the Edinburgh Primark when I was in the other day. Much better than I expected. Leaves me hopeful
