The original delay was 30 minutes and then it was an hour and then two hours. There was no one working the counter to find out what the issue was. There was a flight to SEA that was taking off at 12:40pm and it would've been nice to know more information in case a trip to PDX via SEA was an option for those who chose to do so. There was also a lot of people on the flight to EUG who were not able to reach EUG because this flight(OAK-PDX-EUG) was delayed and they substituted another plane in PDX to run PDX-EUG. Maybe some of those EUG passengers could've flown to SEA and caught a flight to EUG from there? I don't know what the options were for people because there was no one at the gate until it was too late.
From what the pilot said, they took off from PDX to OAK and had an issue with the autopilot and they decided to return to PDX but had to burn fuel to reach their landing weight and that is why it took awhile. I was checking flightaware from the start and it showed the flight heading to OAK which caused more confusion.
