Thank you for sharing this! Just called needing 3900 points and the rep gave me the "emergency loan," even though I've only had the card two months!
Hit the 5K spend right away, but I only had 36,100 pts and needed to get 40K for 5 nights (5th night free). Since there's no more referral bonus I was scratching my head a bit (as I'm trying to hit a 5K spend on an Amex Gold card now and can't rack up another 4K on the SPG right now). This is HUGE!!!
