I need a room for the NYC Marathon 11/2 anything decent is $400.00 or higher. I would love to stay in the city but not at that price. Here is what I did last time I ran this 4 years ago. Stayed at the EWR Marriott marathon eve. Woke up early Sunday and checked out and went to the CO P Club and left my bag in a locker, had something to eat. Took a cab to the Meadowlands where the bus to Staten Island departs from. Martathon ends Central Park west, took subway (no charge) then NJ Transit to EWR. Went to CO PC took a shower, then had a nice meal in the airport.
