You say "we," so I am assuming you are purchasing two (or more) tickets. If you were only purchasing one ticket, for yourself, and were trying to accumulate miles at the end of the year to obtain or maintain status, I would say going with AA might have some merit. But purchasing tickets for two or more people? That's a rather hefty cost differential in a market where AA is simply uncompetitive. Buy your tickets on another, cheaper airline. Loyalty only goes so far in this instance.
