I just finished my two night stay at the IAD Marriott, and everything was fine. I chose this hotel because of its proximity to where I needed to go (boring datacenter...), this wasn't a sight seeing trip at all.
I read some of the negative reviews on trip advisor and at times I was wondering if they were talking about the same hotel.
The room was fine and impeccably clean, the front desk person was a bit busy when I arrived as there were other people checking in but he was handling the workload well.
Breakfast at the Aviator was fine also, and complimentary for plats and golds. I didn't use the internet much, but it seemed fast enough, at least the "enhanced" service which is also comp'd to plats and golds.
I can't comment on the concierge lounge, I arrived late Friday and left this morning.
Overall, a fine stay. No complaints from me. The AAA rate was $79, seemed decent enough for this area on weekends.
Incidentally, I checked in ahead of time on the iPhone app, but the desk that had a sign "pick up your keys here if you already checked in with our app" was unmanned late Friday night.
