Is anyone using the Amex aeroplanplus platine card?
Is it worth the 499CAD?
Looks like the access to Maple Leaf lounge has been removed?
without the MLL access, is this still worth it for Pearson priority lane and fairmont membership?
Are you sure that the MLL access for the American Express AeroplanPlus Platinum Card? The Amex website still lists it as one of the benefits.
Quantities are limited. Cardmember must present their American Express AeroplanPlus Platinum Card and a confirmed, same-day departing ticket on an Air Canada, Air Canada ExpressTM, Air Canada codeshare or Star AllianceTM* flight to be permitted access to a Maple Leaf Lounge. Cardmember is permitted to bring paid guests in the lounge, pending space availability. Access to Arrivals Lounge is available upon presentation of a valid American Express AeroplanPlus Platinum Card and a same-day confirmed boarding pass on an arriving Air Canada international flight, regardless of fare type purchased. Access is subject to Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge terms and conditions and may not be available due to unforeseen circumstances.
Only you will be able to determine the if Pearson Priority lane and Fairmont membership are worth it for you. If you're not SE and fly from Pearson often, then it may be worth it - or you could get a Nexus membership instead for 5 years.
As for Fairmont, would you be staying/paying at/for the Fairmont even if you didn't have the card? If so, then the fast-track to Fairmont status maybe worth it for you.
Personally I use the card because of the 8 North America J flight pass credits that are good for two. I like to book my trips within 48 hours of departure, sometimes even the day of, so the $499 fee is worth it for me.
