The foreign national bases are BOG, EZE, LIM and SCL. Under the contract, AA cannot staff flights to CCS, GIG, GUA and SJO with these foreign nationals but can use them to/from MIA from any other point in Central or South America. I don't believe that AA staffs MIA-GRU flights with the foreign nationals, but I may be mistaken. The APFA contract limits the number of flights that can be staffed with the foreign nationals, and there are only about 500 of them, so their ability to staff flights is not unlimited.
Thanks for the info! And just to clarify, these foreign bases for MIA flying are vestiges of the Eastern Airlines acquisiton in the early 90s, correct?
