I've never found a reason to put my phone number on my profile in the first place. I've never had need for the hotel to call ME. I put a 206-555-5555 number in my profile early on, and seems to work just ducky.

Don't give out your number, you won't get calls.

If you do take them up on a free something-something in exchange for your personal info and a timeshare tour... You're tagged for life unless you give a disposable number.

I've stayed at every HGV in the Vegas area, and don't get calls since I changed my profile number years ago.
