It would be helpful to know from OP what he was actually told. Somehow, he knows there's a 2-hour delay, so that information must have been provided somewhere. If the delay of 2 hours was posted and hasn't changed, not sure what further communications would do or why anybody would want them.

Bottom line is that the flight is 2 hours late. As to "dispatching another plane" where would OP suggest that plane come from?
