Actually I was going to suggest you should call LH in Germany but you obviously did and they couldn't help either. But the comment about the system checking award availability every 2 hours until 10 hours prior to departure if an interesting one.

I did check M&M for award seats and interestingly I could find F awards but no C awards on this flight.

Checking all different avenues, I am thinking I am in that limbo with the new F but the old C for this flight, according to the various places I've checked. Athough recent searches of the tail numbers shows that it varies almost by the day. Oliver2002, does your Amadeus show which version I'm on? It seems row 16 is my best option at this point regardless.
Having scored an upgrade you are now complaining about the old C?

ExpertFlyer is showing an aircraft with the old C cabin. All I can say is even the old C is much, much better than Y on a 10-hour flight. Try and get a seat in row 10 if you can though you may have to wait until you get to the airport. More leg room though it's also the bassinet row.
