Don't take no for an answer
I have not talked about this recently, so perhaps now is the time. For the most part, there are only two reasons that you should be denied a credit card from Citi.
1. You break the rules. More than two applications in two months, more than one business application in three months, AA personal card less than 12-26 months from prior AA personal card (when enforced), etc.
2. You have lousy credit.
Some people have talked about a floating limit on number of inquiries in 6 months but I can't personally confirm that. What I do know is that between my wife and I, we have been approved for 30 cards in 27 months and the only time we have been denied is when breaking the rules. All other denials have been resolved with a call to reconsideration or on a couple of occasions, a letter to the Executive Office.
If you get declined, call reconsideration and find out why and see what can be done to fix it. It should be abundantly clear from the last few months on this thread that Citi wants to approve you for new cards. Let them.
