It's also around the time of the aussie school holidays which can easily double the price (most annoying as a parent)
we are in NZ currently and I think it is the aussie school holidays. everything for the next two weeks is way more costly.
we lucked out on flights to sunshine coast from syd by flying next tuesday. had to delay syd adventures until the end of october.
