I blocked off A&C for me & other half from NY - at check in I was told (with a smile!) they knew what I was trying to do, and was happy with me doing it under normal circumstances, but the flight is overbooked, so we will have someone sitting between us.

With this in mind would we prefer A&B, B&C or to keep our original seats of A&C Fair enough - I took B&C. Just wonder if the flight is infact 100%?

Did a lot of flights on SQ's A380 a few years ago in Economy (that had the upstairs economy cabin - although SQ's LHR A380's are now largely all-J upstairs). Quickly learned that everyone who pre-booked went upstairs (so always full), at check-in they allocated from Row 1 back, so i'd simply prebook the last cabin downstairs, and always got a row of 3 to myself (day flights - window) or Economy Bed (middle 4 - for night flights).
