Since i participated in some of the quoted RGN deals i have to note that the story was quite different. That fare was live and available for several days (and it came back a couple times); furthermore cancellations started popping up weeks if not months after it was booked.
It is reasonable to assume that with so much time passed people made other travel arrangements so cancelling tickets was rather anti-consumer.

Fixing an obvious mistake within minutes is a completely different story. I would add that trying to draw analogies between those two does a great deal of disservice to those who may face a less obvious mistake (or not) in the future.
