Still struggling a bit with Tier Point clarity. If I fly New York to Boston on AA, then I get 10 TPs each way for Economy. However, if I book First then I get 60 TPs, not 40, right? Or is it treated as a business fare? I am not sure the TP calculator can be trusted.
Do not trust the BA calculator.
It all comes down to the fare class booked. If you are booked in F, P or A (on AA only) then you will receive F tier points. If you are booked in a business fare class then you will receive J tier points.
If you book on AA.com you will be in F, P or A.
If you book online at BA.com then you may be in a business fare class, unless you call BA and specify.
Just refer to the AA table and the TP table in the 4th post.
