So in mid-November I'm headed to HNL for work (I know, I know, lucky me) and am debating using my SWUs to ensure I'm in F the entire way to and from Hawai'i. I'll be booking the trip this week. I know I could just wait and cross my fingers to clear the complimentary EXP domestic upgrades at 100 hours, but I've got 6 SWUs left and will be taking at most one more international trip before the end of the year. It seems like a waste to burn a SWU on a domestic flight, but after seeing I should have used them for an LAX-DFW-ANC MR I'm doing next week (both DFW-ANC and ANC-DFW are completely full in F already ) I'm kind of gun-shy about sitting in the back of the bus for another 5 1/2-6 hour set of flights. Fellow EXPs (and non-EXPs), what are your thoughts on burning SWUs for LAX-HNL and HNL-LAX in my situation?
