Shoppers sometimes has promotions where buying any sort of gift card will give Optimum points. They ran this in November last year and it was 8k Optimum points for buying $150 in gift cards (had to be at least 2 gift cards). Just something to keep an eye out for since it is coming up to that time again.
Just remember to swipe your Optimum card during these promo, as once you get a used to this, you will stop swiping you Optimum card when you purchasing non Shopper GC.... since you do not get any points.
