It's not, not with KE, at least not from my experience.
That's just the way it is. Even search the exact same way thrice and get two or three different results on dulta.com. Sometimes may show DL flights only, sometimes only KE, sometimes both. Sometimes none. It's just very buggy, as you can observe all that within less than a minute just going back and redoing the exact same search - without any inventory changes. It just seems to be doing some odd caching and/or sometimes some search requests time out and/or the sort and filter of the results is buggy.. And if you change from price to schedule or go to other than one-way, then even more likely the chance of that.
